Suppose that $a$ and $b$ are positive.

$\bullet $The graph of MATH is the graph of $y=f(x)$ shifted $a$ units to the right.

$\bullet $The graph of MATH is the graph of $y=f(x)$ shifted $a$ units to the left.

$\bullet $The graph of MATH is the graph of $y=f(x)$ shifted up $a$ units.

$\bullet $The graph of MATH is the graph of $y=f(x)$ shifted down $a$ units.
