The marginal cost is the cost of producing one more item. The marginal cost and the average cost per item can differ greatly.
The marginal revenue is the rate of change of the total revenue with respect to the number of units sold.
The marginal profit is the rate of change of the total profit with respect to the number of units produced and sold.
