Integrating factor

Given a differential equation MATHa function $u(x,y)$ so that the differential equation MATHis exact is called an integrating factor.

If the function MATHdoes not depend on $y$, then the function $u$ defined by MATHis a function of $x$ alone and is an integrating factor.
