Implicit functions

Some functions are presented in an explicit manner by giving a formula for y that involves only the variable x. But y can be a function of x without being displayed in such a manner. For example, x and y might satisfy some equation such as 2x2y - 3xy3 + 5x = -15 .

Such functions are called implicit functions.
